INDUSTRIEROHSTOFFE HandelsgmbH (IR) was founded in 1981 as an export-import-enterprise for aluminium and aluminium oxide products by Baustoffimportkontor (BIK) as main shareholder.
The profile was continually enlarged through the merger of the predecessors Industriekeramik-Vertriebsgesellschaft m.b.H and Hungalox Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H. in 1994 as well as later by the incorporation of the trading business of Mineralkontor Rohstoffhandelsgesellschaft m.b.H.
The activity continues to be comprised of international trading and wholesale business, with markets mainly in Central Europe as well as in the Near East and in North Africa.
In January 2002 Industrierohstoffe HandelsgmbH acquired 100% of Motim Aluminiumsulfat GmbH in Mosonmagyarovar, Hungary, a plant producing mainly aluminium sulphate for the paper industry and for water treatment.
